Second Binational Conference (13 and 14 November 2008) was a place that brought together renowned researchers, scholars, students, trade unionists, young activists from the rights of migrants, both in Mexico and United States, who for two days had the opportunity to share, discuss, analyze and understand the different views and perspectives on the effects of globalization and the phenomenon of migration / immigration.
The event featured two keynote speeches: English Dr. Antonio Izquierdo Escribano and trade unionist American Alan Benjamin. So we also had a Panel of Experts with the participation of national and international renowned scholars in the field of migration, we have the presence of Dr. Villarreal Magdalena Martínez (CIESAS-WEST), Dr. Norman Long (Wageningen University, Netherlands), Dr. Jacques Ramírez Gallegos (FLACSO-Ecuador) and Dr. Levine Elaine Leiter (CISAN / UNAM-Mexico). Binational Conference also had room for a Panel of Social Actors where trade unionists, academics and activists for the rights of migrants shared their experiences with attendees.
