First Binational Conference - 2006

With support from the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) and the joint organization of the Academic of Social Studies (CADES) Institute of Social Research, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the UABC and University of California, Riverside campus held the first Binational Conference "Globalization and Migration / Immigration" which had two successful sessions. A session in Mexicali (16 and November 17, 2006) and one in Riverside, California (21 to February 23, 2007).
This meeting was attended by noted academics, public authorities, NGOs, students and civil society representatives, who, through participation and presentation of various research, we reflect and discuss how the globalization / internationalization have influenced the migratory movements, creating new scenarios.
